MEET THE FAMILY
Our family's relationship with Downtown Carrollton began in the 1980's when Café on the Square first opened its' doors. Mother and daughter, Louise and Leas’ driving philosophy behind the neighborhood restaurant was to serve quality, home cooked food, in a comfortable setting, where customers would feel like family. They maintained that tradition for over 15 years and earned D Magazine's recognition as one of the 'Best Neighborhood Restaurants in the Metroplex.'
Fast forward to 2016... Same family, some familiar members and some new, with the same driving philosophy. For over 25 years, Steve worked in the Oil and Gas business. Driven by his passion for wine and food, he decided to retire from the corporate world and return to the Square to open 55 Degrees with his wife, Lea. 55 Degrees is a place where neighbors become friends, and friends become family. We invite you to come unwind, eat and drink with us in an inviting atmosphere without pretense. At 55 Degrees you can enjoy wines from around the world. We also offer a selection of unique craft beers and cider with a variety of delicious food options, made with only the freshest ingredients.

MEET THE CHEFS
Our head Chef for many years, Benjamin , has returned along with sous chefs, Carmen and Josh. Chef Andrades has worked at several of Dallas' top restaurants including, The Grape, Eddie V's Prime Seafood, St. Anne’s, and Le Bilboquet - to name a few. Our Sunday Brunch is spearheaded by Chef Joseph and his wife, Leticia. Joseph previously worked as Executive Sous Chef for the Texas Rangers. Previous owners of the Broadway Bistro Café, Chef Cuellar and his wife are no strangers to the Square in Downtown Carrollton.
